The June 2026 brief uses Artiron Motors, a multinational automotive manufacturer with more than 50,000 employees and a carbon-net-zero target for 2036. Learners must answer 12 questions and apply every assessment criterion to this case.

The current document carries assessment ID CIPD_5CO01_26_01. The official CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management specification, Version 2.6, confirms that 5CO01 Organisational Performance and Culture in Practice is a seven-credit Level 5 core unit covering AC 1.1 to AC 3.3.
Brief verification: Check the assessment ID, case organisation and question count against the copy supplied by your Study Centre. Online resources may still use earlier cases or different task wording.

Learners need at least 2 on every question; one mark of 1 leads to referral. Overall bands are 0–23 Refer/Fail, 24–30 Low Pass, 31–39 Pass and 40–48 High Pass. Strong responses combine accurate knowledge, wider reading, references, direct case application and attention to every part of the question.
Evaluate both structures against Artiron Motors’ scale and work. Divisions can improve specialist control but create silos or duplication. Matrix working can connect engineering, production, finance and people specialists on EV projects but cause dual authority and resource conflict. Select two distinct preferences, such as lower-emission vehicles and responsible manufacturing. Trace how each could change product investment, battery sourcing, plant conversion, supplier standards, workforce capability or market positioning. “Customers care about sustainability” is too broad; show which strategic decisions would change.
Analyse tariffs and supply disruption separately, then show how they combine. Tariffs can alter component costs, sourcing and pricing; disruption can delay production or EV projects. Assess responses such as alternative suppliers, regional sourcing or strategic inventory, including their costs. Avoid a generic PESTLE explanation.
Cover the car-manufacturing industry and work at Artiron Motors. Robotics can affect safety, speed, consistency, job design and skills. The 2036 target is set and employees have been consulted, so focus on plant upgrades, capability gaps, communication, resources, involvement, milestones and reinforcement. Use one employee-change model but recognise different reactions. Production operatives may fear redundancy, deskilling or safety risks; engineers may see development opportunities; managers may prioritise output. Discuss how trials, training, consultation and role clarity affect these reactions. Do not repeat the Q7 change plan.
Choose two case issues: PPE, long working hours or pay. Assess their effects on employees and performance and explain why action matters. Choose three lifecycle stages and match each to a specialist role. Resourcing can support recruitment; learning and development can shape induction and technical learning; talent management can support rotations, progression and retention. Keep Q11 separate from Q7: this criterion asks how people practice supports strategy. Analyse EV-skills planning, technical recruitment, production reskilling, sustainability-linked objectives, leadership, reward and participation. The survey identified concerns but did not complete consultation. Discuss channels for production and hybrid employees, including safety committees, representatives, focus groups, pulse surveys and digital feedback. CIPD does not prescribe a separate word count for each question. Use this only as a starting plan and adjust it where your Study Centre gives different instructions. Do not spend extra words on background theory while leaving part of a multi-part question unanswered.
The learner declaration in the June 2026 brief states that AI tools must not be used to suggest ideas, generate content, structure, edit or enhance the assessment.
